Fire Update
WE ARE STILL TAKING ORDERS FOR AN EXPECTED SHIP DATE BY THE END OF MAY! (SEE UPDATE BELOW)
A generous neighbor and friend has offered the use of their currently not-in-use commercial woodworking shop as we work through the insurance and rebuild. They have all the woodworking equipment in place already, but it will take us a bit to restock inventory, set our systems up and order and set up the specific tools we need for building our products.
Our reopening date is currently sometime in May before we start shipping combs, hackles and pickers again. (Some items will be available before others, but the plan is to have everything available to ship by the end of May.)
On February 22 we had a devastating loss. Our entire woodshop burned to the ground. This was a tremendous loss as we have invested years of improvements and systems in our shop. We are working with insurance on plans to rebuild as quickly as possible.
UPDATE: MARCH 7, 2025
Things are coming along quickly! We took inventory of the loss and submitted it to the insurance company. Now we are ready to turn our attention to our new woodshop space!
Bartholomew, our co-master woodworker at Bam Fiber Works, has been busy gathering supplies and tidying up the new space to get it ready for building custom jigs and worktables tailored just for our products and processes. Things are going to be coming together over this next week and looking a lot more woodshop-ish as we put things together. Tools are arriving, and we've also quickly acquired a couple of our hard-to-find tools!
In short, everything is on schedule and looking good for the end of May/early June ship date! I will give another update soon.
